Tattered Lace Stag Symphony Christmas Card in Spellbinders Scribe PA Frame

Made using
Spellbinders PA Scribe set,
Tattered Lace Stag Symphony
Impression Obsession Twig Wreath, Pine Needles Holly Berries Set.

The poinsettia and rectangle dies are unbranded.

I embossed the stags from the back with a ball embossing tool to make them appear more 3d and added eyes and noses.  Though some of the smaller deer look a little googly eyed or winking as my pen was slightly dodgy.  Lol.

Repeat 20 more times.  I'd had more than enough of stags and apertures by then! 😅😀

Thank you and Seasons greetings to those who have stopped by over the last year from far and wide.

Snowflake Ribbon Christmas Card

Made using unbranded dies and cut twice, one in white and one in silver.  Glued together but slightly offset to give a 3d effect.

This is the same card but using the negative space.  Boy was it tricky gluing the tiny pieces into position in the snowflakes!

And I hate it when you can see the glue on the silver card but it was so difficult on this and the other version looks much better anyway.  Lol.

Spellbinders Heirloom Ornaments & Marianne Winter Village Horizon

Made using
Spellbinders Heirloom Ornaments die
Marianne Winter Village Horizon die
and Memory Box Star of Wonder die.

The foliage dies are various unbranded dies.

I made these last few in a hurry and unfortunately I forgot bits.  There was supposed to be a snow embossing folder used behing the church scene and snow added below and other finishing touches but oooopsy, time got away from me.

Tonic Studios Tea Party Square Christmas Card

The Season's Greetings.  An acrylic stamp found in a charity shop.

Tonic Studios Tea Party Square die cut in white backed onto gold.

Mistletoe dies unbranded as are the circle dies.

Cut, glue, stamp, sprinkle, heat emboss and Bob's your uncle.

Sue Wilson Australian Background Card

Anniversary card made using Sue Wilson Australian background die, unbranded banner dies, Spellbinder Lacey Circle die and a Lili of the Valley circle sentiment stamp.

Unfortunately when cleaning the acrylic stamp after use it just disintegrated in my hands.  Sadly most of them have done and they no longer make them.  Perhaps that's why!

Shame, as they are my favourite way to use a sentiment on a card.  I know they have the same in digi form now but I don't have a programme that can get exactly the right colour that I want.  😭

Spellbinders Pa Scribe Nestabilities Birthday Card

Made using the Spellbinders PA Scribe die set.  The inset part was embossed in an embossing folder from a Sizzix Thank You set by Rachael Bright.

The tag is also by Spellbinders but I can't remember exactly which one as there is another one almost identical to it but it doesn't punch out the holes.

Added ribbons and gems.  It's a bit of a hotch potch this one because as usual I'd left it rather late in the day and didn't have enough of the right colour ribbon to match the number of gems I needed so it became a bit mix and match.

Why is it I have enough ribbon to stock a shop but when I want a particular colour in a particular width I never have it?  Lol!

Spellbinders Intertwined Spirals and Sue Wilson Italian Collection - Tuscany Birthday Card

Made for my very special friend for her birthday using Spellbinders Intertwined Spirals and Sue Wilson Italian Collection.

Played around with inks in her favourite colours but couldn't achieve what I wanted.

The inks are water reactive and I had seen a demo where after inking you spritz a mask with water, lay over the top and then lift to reveal the pattern in the background.  I will have to revisit it as my attempts were woeful!

Plan B, do a do-over and cover up.  I love the circular sentitment stamps from Lily of the Valley, but the ones I have used the most have just disintegrated so out of the ones I have left, I thought this was the best.

Even though we do not see each other very often as we live hundreds of miles apart, we have been very close for thirty years.  And this year we managed to spend her birthday together.  Lovely!

Yikes, where have the years gone?! Lol.

Darice Nature Embossing Folder Card

Card made as a sympathy card using one of the tall, slim Darice Nature Themed Embossing Folders.

The blackbird is one from the Memory Box Resting Birds set.

I usually make it a rule never to make the same card twice and this does look very similar to a sympathy card I made in December 2016  but in my defence

  • I needed the card made that day
  • I haven't used that particular embossing folder before so it is sort of different.
  • I am a dentist phobic and have been having root canal treatment on a molar for the last few weeks, and feeling pretty traumatised, this was the best I could come up with!  Lol!
That's my excuse and I'm sticking to it. 😅😅😅😅😅😅😅

All White Card

Well, more off white really.

I already had the base card made with Spellbinders Shapeabilities Fantastic Flourish laying in my stash.  I'd started it a few years ago and then didn't know what to do with it.😕

I also had the flowers I'd previously made from vellum cut with Sue Wilson Perfect Peony dies and then stamped and heat embossed with Sue Wilson Shaded Peony stamps.  Major problem when shaping the petals though as most of the embossing fell off!😢😀

Die cut Sue Wilson Fiji die and backed it with vellum.  Added the tags which are dies from China.  The hat pin I made myself and the Just For You die is one I found in a charity shop.  Yay!

New Baby Card

Card made to go with each of the cot quilts.

Made with Spellbinder dies, apart from the bunny dies which were from China, ribbon and pearlised card in colours matching the cot quilts.

Cot Quilt Shelley Cominskey Fluffy Bunny

My hairdresser and eyebrow lady were both expecting babies on the same day!

These panels are by Shelley Comiskey and are called Fluffy Bunny and came on the same piece and I thought they would be great as they were gender neutral as the ladies concerned were not being tempted into finding out the gender of their babies beforehand.

Anyway, I found out just before I had finished them that what I thought was a teal green is actually classed as blue as the company that produce these panels do exactly the same ones also in pink!

I was then praying that come 4th August when they were both due that little baby boys would come along.  On the 7th a beautiful baby girl was born and on the 12th another adorable baby girl was born. Lol!  It's the thought that counts.......................

The fabric is a lovely soft flannel to which I added more flannel borders and quilted round the obvious bits.  I gave the bunnies faces: just hope they don't scare the babies!!!  The quilt is backed with lovely white fleece.  All soft and cuddly!

Chinese Watercolour Cats

I wanted to make a card for the chap who looks after our cat in the best cattery I have ever seen;
Tippytoes Luxury Cat Hotel, Taverham.

I made an ATC like this several years ago and thought it would make the perfect male card for a cat lover.

The flowers were an after thought as I thought it needed a spot of colour and they're supposed to represent blossoms but they haven't really worked and had I not left it til the last minute, I would have done it differently. Lol.

Also, my watercolour paint had dried up (I know the feeling😃) so I used gouache which didn't give the translucent effect I really wanted.   Oh well...........

Eclipse Birthday Card

Went on holiday beginning of May in our campervan to meet up with friends in Ironbridge.

Well the weather was horrendous and I was feeling rotten with a stinking cold!  We managed one decent day at the very beginning where we went to Ironbridge.  After that the rain became torrential and when the awning carpet was floating we decided to come home early so didn't get to see anything else.

Ironbridge itself is absolutely though, even if it was a bit damp.

This was a photograph that I changed into a watercolour using Lunapic which is a free online editor.
Die cut the letters, backed them onto darker card and mounted them back into the negative space with foam pads.

Fathers Day Card

I had envisioned this card in my head for Fathers Day with the goose and his goslings but the reality didn't live up to my expectations. Lol.

I used Crealies Nestlies XXL No 77 dies and had imagined more layers, more depth, more colour.............just more!!!!!!   I also hadn't taken into account the size of the stamps.

In hindsight, I wish I'd cropped the images a lot more but as usual, I'd left it too close to the deadline to start faffing about.  This ended up an 8" x 8" card which left a lot of white space.

I also used an old copper Krylon leafing pen which packed up almost as soon as I started using it and just looks mucky.  Noooooooooooooooo..................................!

It's the thought that counts!  😒🤪

Wedding Card

Wedding card made using plain ivory card.

Centre aperture is from Sue Wilson Italian Collection - Umbria.  The very centre with the ribbon woven through is from  Sue Wilson Madeleine.    Corner dies are from Crafters Companion.  Stamp is from Lily of the Valley.

The original plan was to include some yellow/lemon on the card as that is their main colour theme but it hasn't worked out that way and I didn't was to use yellow mulberry flowers just for the sake of it.

Congratulations Mr & Mrs D! xx

Memory Box Piestra Tile

Another tall, slim card made for a birthday using Memory Box Piestra Tile die.

Backed with turquoise pearlescent card and threaded down both sides of the middle with turquoise organza 3mm ribbon.

Flowers were made from Sue Wilson's Camellia dies, coloured and glazed. The tag is from the Spellbinders Shapeabilities Fancy Framed Tags Two set.

Have had this die for ages but this is the first time I have used it.  My mother in law loved the last tall slim card (Sue Wilson Lattice Striplet) I made for Mothers Day so much that I thought I would try with this one.

Hope she likes it!

Sue Wilson Lattice Window Striplet Die Mothers Day Card

Made for Mothers Day using Sue Wilson Lattice Window Die which I laced with 3mm pale green ribbon and backed onto pale pearlised green card.

Flowers were made from Sue Wilson's Camellia dies, coloured and glazed.

The tag is from the  Spellbinders Shapeabilities Fancy Framed Tags Two set.

The stamp is from Luxe Framed Sentiments Layering Stamp and Die set.

Whole thing matted onto tall slim cream card.  Pwetttttttttttttttty!

3d Cabinet Card

Made for a special lady who is having a a special birthday this year.

Made with dies from China. 3mm ribbon threaded through and some 3d pear effects.

I don't often say this but it really did look better in real life.

Made using Sue Wilson Australian background die, Sue Wilson Peony dies, unbranded tag dies from China and a handmade hat pin with ribbon.

Multi Layer Arched Box Frame Card

Now I know that  I have folded the front edge on the left hand side over on the front and it should've been behind (you should've heard the cursing!) but after using DST there is no going back!

The other thing  is is that the middle pieces fit into a side piece through slots.  I don't know if I have done it wrong but it was only after I was taking a photo that I noticed that the middle pieces  don't fit low enough so where you should be able to see straight through the cut outs on the side, you can't on mine because it's all higgledy piggledy.

All in all, with the inking of the inner edges that went a bit awry, it's a bit of a dogs dinner!  I did put a note on to my friend apologising as she always sends me beautiful handmade cards.  Lol.

The cabinet die is from China (perhaps that explains it).  The die on the top is Sue Wilson  Daisy Cluster.   The foliage die is the Sue Wilson Blossoming Branch die and the flowers were made from  good old fashioned punches.  The  Happy Birthday is a Sue Wilson Mini Expressions die.

Tattered Lace Peach Sorbet Picture Perfect Circle Christmas Cards

The main body of the card is cut using the Picture Perfect Circle and is self supporting on a stand.  I say self supporting but I found that it is only self supporting with something behind it;  like a brick wall!

The Poinsettia is the Sizzix Bigz Die Tattered Poinsettia by Tim Holtz and the From Our House to Yours is by Sue Wilson.

The centre is by Amy Designs and is called Ice Crystal Frame.   The rest are unbranded from China.

I really enjoyed making the first two but then the other eight became rather tedious. Lol.

Celebrate

Well I have finally got a laptop after my last one started limping and then after several attempts at patching up, it finally died. After choosing another out of the thousands that are available these days, it turned out to be faulty!

Anyway, this is a card I made using Tattered Lace Floating in the Air Circle, Sue Wilson Maggie die and matching stamp and the tags are unbranded from China.

Memory Box Poinsettia Ribbon Christmas Cards

Made using Memory Box Poinsettia Ribbon die and a Merry Christmas unbranded die from China.
