Persian Tiles Eastern Jewels Blanket

I love everything about this blanket.  OK, well not everything.  More on that later.

As it turns out, this pattern is a few years old now and nothing new.  Inspired by Truly Potts I decided to design my own version of the square and triangle infills.

Sounds a lot easier than it actually was!  Anyway, I got to something that I was happy with.

I also changed the border pattern and created my own adapting the Whipsiderry Border to fit my blanket.

I absolutely adore this blanket but have to say I would not do another one in this colourway.  The amount of ends, hundreds and hundreds that had to be sewn in was just beyond!

The next thing to decide is what do I do with it?🤷🤔

And finally, seasons greetings to one and all!💗

Crochet Projects

 Hello, long time no see.😂

Where does the time go?

Anyway, this is what I have been doing.

This is a project bag I made from previous practise squares.  However, I realised too late that I should have lined it as I kept losing hooks and things out of the holes.  Oh well......

And yet more practise squares turned in this.

Now all these squares, small and large, were supposed to fit together in a fabulous pattern.  Mine turned out in all sorts of sizes but I managed to join them; sort of!😂   I do love the popcorn stitch edging though!💗

More crochet!

Whilst having the kitchen the craft room had been turned into a temporary kitchen so I decided to turn to the hook again to keep me focussed whilst all the disruption was going on.

I got some bargain wool from the charity shop, borrowed some lovely books from my lovely sister and had a bit a of refresher course on Youtube from Bella Coco.  All her tutorials are amazing!

Anyway, I loved crocheting the squares but then didn't know what to do with them.

And this is what I came up with.

A crochet bag for more crochet projects!  I am seriously hooked! Pun intended.  Lol!
😁😁😁😁😁💕

For the love of crochet!

Back in 2020 during lockdown I decided to try and teach myself crochet and started a doily.

Well, after not having enough yarn and having gone awry I left it and picked it up again just recently and decided to finish it it off with a slightly different colour to sit in our new kitchen.

Have to say, I'm rather pleased with it!

Jelly Roll Quilt Moda Chocolate and Roses

Nothing from me in months and then two posts in one day!  Don't get too excited as I don't know when the next one will be!  Lol!

I used a quilt pattern I bought off Etsy.

As suggested in the title, it was made using a jelly roll from Moda called Chocolate & Roses and it was originally intended for a friends 50th birthday.

Well, I decided the colours really weren't right for her (see my French Braid quilt that I made instead) so put this to one side.

Eight years later, I have finally finished it!  And then when I was sewing in the ends on the reverse side, I nicked the back with the scissors.

Only I could do that!!!😢😢😢😢😢

Pretty Balloon Birthday Card

Hello!

I actually made this in February but with one thing and another and another, getting in the way, I'm only now posting it to my blog.

The image was free from somewhere but because it was a few months ago I can't remember where from.  Doh!

Die cut banners and words.

Matched the colours in the image to my collection of cardstock and made up the background to match.

Hope he takes up another hobby before next years birthday otherwise I think it will be pretty predictable!  Lol!

Polish Paper Cuts Christmas Card

These are unbranded Polish Papercut dies that I bought from China.

The intention originally was to make a birthday card for my friend who is very proud of her polish heritage but we had some work done on the house and it felt like you couldn't move in any room for weeks on end so any type of crafting was out of the question!

So, this may have been my one and only handmade christmas card for this year, but the recipient really did appreciate it!

FAO LAURA: Who left a comment on the Poinsettia Ribbon Christmas Cards

I tried to contact you personally but couldn't find a way of doing it.

If you go into a well known online marketplace and search in the die cutting category for China dies, you will see some come up which will lead you to others.

Some people use AlliExpress where it is all based in China.

The quality can be sometimes a bit questionable but for the price, I'm prepared to take the risk.

I really hope you see this and apologies for not replying sooner but I don't get notified when someone leaves a comment.

Thank you though, it was lovely to read.

Fathers Day Card

I had seen the words 'King of Dads' used on other cards and I really liked the sentiment and wanted to use it..

Used an app to change a photo into a line drawing.  I wanted it to be as simple as possible and still be recognisable and this was as far as I could go without losing too much.

Added a free clipart crown and that was it.

First Birthday Card

Nice and simple first birthday card for the most perfect great nephew.

From the beginning it was always giraffes although Peppa Pig seems to be of great interest at the moment. Lol.

As they do not live near, obviously haven't seen him hardly at all but thanks to Whatsapp have had lots of photos/videos.  Thank goodness for modern technology!

Golden Wedding Anniversary Card & Plant Stick

Golden Wedding Anniversary card made for a very dear friend.

Made using non branded dies.

We had bought a Golden Tiara Clematis and obelisk for them so made this plant label.  Using a Spellbinders Labels die cut into into copper sheet.  I then used metal punches to form the wonky words.  Lol.

Sue Wilson Australian Background Sympathy Card

Really hated having to make this card.

Made for a lovely lady who recently lost her beloved husband and both were of a strong religious faith.

I do not have any crucifix dies so made this one by prick & stitch.  Matted onto the Sue Wilson Australian background which was matted onto a very pale cream card.

A Spellbinders tag was rubber stamped with the sentiment.

Sue Wilson's Austrian Background Mother's Day Card

Made using Sue Wilson's Austrian background die set.

Matted onto a patterned paper from a set I bought from The Range.

Sentiment printed from computer.

Monogram Birthday Card

I paid for these images for I'm going to use them!  Lol!

Very simple card but classy.

The base card came from a pack of blanks that already had three embossed squares/apertures already down the right hand side so I just resized the images to fit those. Matted onto some lilac card to give some definition and although I was tempted to add 'stuff' down the left hand side I resisted and left it as was.
