Spellbinders PA Scribe Set & Sizzix Tim Holtz Poinsettia Christmas Cards

The die used to cut the background for the white card is an unbranded one and not sure what it is called.

The poinsettia was cut from foamiran.  Heated on an iron or with a heat gun and then twisted to shape.  Gold artificial flower stamens added.

Sentiment stamped to tag and double layered with gold card over white and gold ribbon.  Flat back pearls added.

I only made nine of these as they were very time consuming and they played havoc with the pinched nerve in my neck!  Insert crying face here! Or the worlds smallest 🎻   Lol.😁

πŸ’—Anyway,  seasons's greetings to you and here's hoping that 2021 is a much, much better year for us all!πŸ’—

Crealies Create A Card No6 and Tattered Lace Floating in the Air Circle Surprise Baby Card

Made using Crealies Create A Card No6 die for the card blank and Tattered Lace Floating in the Air Circle Surpirse.

This beautiful baby girl is half chinese and I knew that this part of the childs heritage was important to both parents so tried to include it in the card and as 2020 is chinese year of the rat, a rat it had to be.  It's a very cute rat though!

Anniversary Card

Main die is from Sue Wilson's Italian Collection; Umbria.

The image is a free image downloaded from png.tree.com and is called pink watercolour flower frame.  There are thousands to choose from and you have download two free every day.

Added some of my ubiquitous glazed Sue Wilson Camellia flower dies.  I made a big stash of these but have used that last of them so goodness knows what I will use now.  Lol.

21st Birthday Card

Made using Couture Creations Tied Together embossing folder.  Sue Wilson Stitched Flags Dies.  Number Dies.  Spellbinders Scalloped Circles.  The flowers are made from Sue Wilson Camellia dies, coloured and glazed.

The patterned papers are very old and I have no idea which set they originally came from.  Actually thinking about it, they're probably as nearly as old as the person for whom the card is for.  Lol!

Birthday Card using Crafters Companion Opulent Swirls Die

Made using one of the Opulent Swirls dies as the main background for the card.

The papers and tags are the last remnants from a very old set.  Found a rose I had previously made.  Wound some ribbon and made some hatpins.

Die cut an easel stand and that was it.

Hope everyone is keeping safe and well during these strange times.

Tonic Studios Vicorian Frame Birthday Card

Tonic Studio Essentials Victorian Frame Layering Set used to make this card.

It was bought for me by a special friend for my last birthday so I thought I would use it to make her birthday card this year along with some ribbon that she had given me.

Hope she likes it.

Cards for men using digitally altered photographs.

Had a wonderful holiday in the camper van and joined friends at a campsite in Weymouth July 2019.

These are a couple of fabulous (originally colour) photographs that my husband took of some lobster pots and a boat at Lulworth Cove and also of Portland Bill Lighthouse.

Changed them digitally in one of the many apps that are available and simply matted onto charcoal card.

Here's to the next adventure; whenever that may be?! 🀷‍♀️πŸš™πŸ˜ŽLol.

Craft Concepts Sun Ray Embossing folder and Spellbinders PA Scribe Father's Day Card

I loathe making cards for men and after trying (very trying!) many attempts at different styles, this was the best of the lot.  I haven't used this folder before and thought it would tie in well with the quote that I wanted to put inside it.

"A father is neither an anchor to hold us back, nor a sail to take us there, but a guiding light whose love shows us the way."

Used Spellbinders PA Scribe die for the main body of the card.  Craft Concepts Sun Ray embossing folder for matting and Lili of the Valley sentiment stamp.

Now onto my next card for a man.  Help!

Beginners Crochet and Vintage Eyebright Doily

For years and years I have always wanted to be able to crochet but no matter how many times I have been shown I have never been able to get the hang of it.

I think it may have been partly down to the fact that I am left handed and was always shown with the hook in my left hand and apart from handwriting I actually do 99% of other things right handed.

Anyway, I have recently picked up the knitting needles again and thought with the aid of YouTube I would try and have a go at crochet again.

Found a fabulous site called Bella Coco - How to crochet for absolute beginners.  Here are my first few goes that I started on 23 May with the wool I had left over from the baby hat.

My Mum in law then sent me some proper crochet yarn and some old Crochet Monthly magazines with crochet charts in.  She recommended that I start with this one.

However, this meant that there was no lovely Bella Coco to follow.  Instead I had to follow this chart.

It's like learning a completely new language!

Anyway, I (sort of) completed it a couple of days ago and here it is.

It's not identical on the last few rounds as I knew I wasn't going to have enough yarn and I was trying to get away with it.  I didn't!

It has got several mistakes in it where I haven't chained enough or I have chained too many and my tension needs to improve but from starting from a complete novice to an almost completed doily of about 12 inches diameter in about two weeks, I am very happy.

It has now been pulled back, yarn washed and ready for my next beginners piece.  And if I can do it, anyone can!

Baby Boy Giraffe Card

Made using 5cm letter dies and a giraffe die, all non branded.

Gluing on the giraffe spots was a nightmare as they are so tiny so I won't be in a rush to use this die again! 😁

This has now gone off in the post with the baby hat and nappy cover to the most beautiful baby I think I have ever seen.  Awwww!

Sue Wilson Australian Collection - Sydney

Made using Sue Wilson Australian Collection - Sydney die.

I needed to make an engagement card to post today and found I don't have a single stamp that says congratulations or engagement.

Use the printer I think.  I also do not have any ink in the printer!

I wish now I had made it in a different colour as I think this really heavy and I couldn't find a good match in my ink pads but I'd been struggling with another card and had just had to pull back two rounds of crochet and was losing the will to live so here it is. 😁😁

Keep smiling and stay safe.  😎

Knitted Giraffe Baby Hat & Nappy Cover

There is a new baby boy due in the family very soon and as grandmother and greatgrandmother are both very talented crafters and have already been busy with quilts and crochet hooks I decided to have a go at knitting again.

I would love to be able to crochet and I don't know if it's because I'm cack handed, even though I knit right handed, I just don't seem to be able to get to grips with it.

Anyway, there are not many knitting patterns out there for this sort of thing (masses of crochet ones) but I eventually found one.

I really wanted a giraffe one as they had chosen a giraffe soft toy for baby  so I thought it would be nice.  Trouble was I really didn't like it in yellow.  So tones of grey it is.  Lol.

Now, I am aware it is not the best piece of knitting in the world.  I was amazed at how much I had forgotten!   I am also aware that the face bears a strong resemblance to a pig but if the Simpsons can have a Spiderpig the I can have a Pigraffe. πŸ˜€

Hope you're all safe and well in lockdown.

Daisy Mother's Day Card

Made using unbranded large letter dies, Sizzix Bigz Flower Daisies #2 65401 and Sue Wilson Antlia die.

She loves daisies and as she is in self isolation I am hoping this may brighten her day.  Asking rather a lot of a card in this current climate but one can hope.

Stay safe and keep well everyone. xx

Crealies No 77 Birthday Card

Birthday card made using Crealies No 77 dies.  The larger cuts are embossed with a Cuttlebug Swiss Dots embossing folder and the smaller dies were used for the floral vellum which I got in a bundle from a charity shop but I have seen it on Ebay.

The sentiment is from Hobbycraft Sentiments Layering Stamp and Die Set stamped onto a Spellbinders tag.

Spellbinders Shapeabilities - Cannetille Rectangle Dies

Made using

Spellbinders Shapeabilities Cannetille Rectangle dies
Crafters Companion Little One die
Crafters Companion Boy Girl dies

The ribbon, and elephant with balloons set are unbranded.

I find new baby cards hard to do; grown up celebratory cards are far easier.

Anyway, one down, one to go.
